Gute Nachricht von Apple: Bis dato war NFC nur auf die Nutzung des eigenen Bezahldienstes Apple Pay beschr\u00e4nkt. Das \u00e4ndert sich mit iOS 13. Ab dieser Version unterst\u00fctzen Apple Devices nun das Lesen und Schreiben \u00fcber die Funkschnittstelle NFC auch f\u00fcr weitere Funktionen. Damit ist dann erstmals auch die NFC-Authentifizierung bei iOS 13 \u00fcber NFC-Token m\u00f6glich, wie sie beispielsweise der schwedische Hersteller Yubico mit YubiKey 5 NFC anbietet. Mit YubiKey 5 NFC ist die passwortfreie Authentifizierung nach dem FIDO2<\/a> Standard m\u00f6glich. Dieses Authentifizierungsverfahren entspricht allen Vorgaben an eine Zwei-Faktor Authentifizierung. Eine Einschr\u00e4nkung gibt es allerdings: Der Safari Browser erlaubt eine Authentifizierung \u00fcber FIDO2\/WebAuthn (noch) nicht.<\/p>\n

Ein Modell f\u00fcr den deutlich kompakteren USB-C Anschluss (5C NFC) ist ebenfalls bald verf\u00fcgbar. YubiCo will demn\u00e4chst auch eine iOS-App \u00abYubiCo-Authenticator\u00bb freigeben. Die Anmeldedaten werden dann im Zusammenspiel mit einem YubiKey nicht auf dem mobilen Device sondern dem YubiKey Sicherheitsschl\u00fcssel gespeichert. Offensichtlich kam auch f\u00fcr Yubico die NFC-Funktionserweiterung etwas \u00fcberraschend, hatte der Hersteller doch erst k\u00fcrzlich den YubiKey 5CI Security-Key mit Lightning<\/em> Anschluss neu in das Programm aufgenommen. Dieser ist jedoch teurer als der YubiKey 5 NFC und auf den Einsatz bei Apple Devices beschr\u00e4nkt.<\/p>\n

Vor allem die sichere Anmeldung nach dem FIDO2 Protokoll wie bei YubiKey 5<\/a> NFC, erm\u00f6glicht eine Zwei-Faktor Authentifizierung ohne User-Interaktion, denn ein zus\u00e4tzliches Passwort muss nicht eingeben werden.
